Sr. Geologist
Mr. Cole is a Professional Geologist with over 30 years of progressive environmental consulting experience with extensive work completed in Mineral Sands Mining Reclamation, groundwater and surface water use, contamination assessments and site remediation work. He has developed work plans and delivered products on several multi-million dollar projects. He is a proven team leader while managing and working with diverse groups to complete projects on time and within budget. He works closely with Federal, State and Local governments to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations. He previously has owned and operated a very successful environmental consulting company specializing in site remediation and site development.
In the technical aspects of these positions, Mr. Cole has completed assignments including the collection and interpretation of data relating to contamination assessments, ecological and surface water investigations, remedial action design, Phase I, II, and III investigations, asbestos removal coordination and environmental compliance oversight at large, environmentally sensitive, construction projects.
Mr. Cole has managed reclamation activities associated with the closure of a massive mineral sands mine following termination of mining activities. The position included; financial management, contract management and team management of the reclamation project. A work program was created and completed to investigate environmental impacts of the mining operations, reclaim wetlands and uplands per FDEP and permit conditions, and design and implementation of a major earth moving project to create landforms to match previous topographic and watershed conditions. Additional projects included groundwater and surface water studies and monitoring programs to study the effects of mining related activities.
Mr. Cole also oversaw consumptive use permit compliance including rule enforcement, review and evaluation of water use data and review and evaluation of complex submittals. Work with Permittees to ensure compliance and understanding of Chapters 40C-2, 40C-22, 40C-20, F.A.C. and other applicable portions of the Water Management CUP program.
